Grandparents in Canada have a right to know the names of their grandchildren. Therefore we will only provide information about children to their grandparents. Any grandparent requesting information needs to identify themselves, their parents, and grandparents. If we are satisfied with the identity of the requesting person, we may supply the data. However we reserve the right to refuse any request, or to ask for further information
This site starts at Jonathon Bowerman, a son of Ichabod Bowerman and Jane Richmond, and continues for three generations.
Jonathon was born in Dutchess County in New York, and moved to the the Bloomfield area of Prince Edward County in Ontario after the American Revolution. He married Sarah Vincent in 1794. He was a grist mill owner and miller and is listed as having built the first saw mill of the district.
The data has been gathered from various sources other than my own family records, namely: Robert Bowerman of Rhode Island, Lorne Shunk of Toronto, Anna Pearl Wynne of Toronto, Ontario, Rhetta Bowerman of Mantoulin Island, Ontario, and Gordon Bowerman of Norwich, Ontario. Credits in the notes give most of the sources.
Jonathon was a great-great-grandson of Thomas Bowerman & Hannah Annable, and a son of Ichabod Bowerman & Jane Richmond.
Corrections or additional information are always welcomed. All Bowerman researchers would especially like to have information that takes Thomas back to England with some family there.
